Man oh man the year is wrapping up and I have to say I crushed my reading goals this year. With a baby on the way for a majority of the year and then the baby arriving, I anticipated not being able to read that many books. But man oh man those nights up with the baby, really offered me a chance to read and crush my goal instead. Super proud of having read 19 books this year when my goal was 15.
Book 19 was You Again by Kate Goldbeck. Ari is a comedian trying to break the scene in New York and Josh is a chef cooking up storms in the kitchen. Over the series of a few years, these two keep running into each other. They start of fas enemies sleeping with the same woman but later on end up being friends? Yes you read that punctuation right there is a question mark there.
It was an easy read but maybe one of the more predictable stories. Sometimes I felt like I was powering through the book to get to more of the foodie descriptions and restaurant clatter. But this one quote did stick with me. “Maybe there’s no such thing as soulmates. Maybe there are only people who trust each other enough to being with something without being assured of the end.” That one really resonated with me.
That’s all for today everyone. Thanks for reading. Cheers!!!
