A Christmas Notch Series by Julie Murphy and Sierra Simone

Well with it being the holidays, I love hopping into holiday romance books! Thought it would be fun to share a series I’ve been reading over the past year. This series is fun and flirty. Think your hallmark movies mixed in with your dirty films on the setting for a Christmas village. Here let’s hop into the quick and dirty of each book.

A Merry Little Meet Cute – Bee is an adult film star who is accidentally casted in a “hallmark-esq” holiday movie. Nolan is a has been boy band pop star who is trying to revive his career and hoping everyone forgets about his dirty past. When these two are casted as leads in Duke the Halls, will they be able to keep their secrets and also breakout to this new type of market. This one was by far my favorite of the 3. I feel in love with the writing, the slow burn and it has some pretty funny moments. Often times when I read, i share the plot with my partner. This was one of the few times where he was invested in the story and laughing along with me. Highly recommend this one!

Snow Place Like LA. This is a little novella that takes place after A Merry Little Meet Cute. Angel and Luca met and hooked up. Luca thought things were going to grow into more after filming of Duke the Halls but he was wrong. Luca tries to figure out what happened to Angel and if they can recreate the romance they had at Christmas Notch. This was a nice light breather and brought us back to the Christmas Notch world in the middle of the summer. This one could definitely be skipped if you don’t want to read it, it doesn’t add much plot to A Holly Jolly Ever After.

A Holly Jolly Ever After – Winnie’s image to her fan base is a good girl with the perfect marriage and movie career. When she finds out her husband is cheering on her, she has a bit of a breakdown that ruins her image. Getting a second chance to rebuild her career in a new movies, she meets Kallum her new leading star a used to be boy band member now turned pizza business man. Can the two create the onscreen spark? This was a fun read and also light. Not so much of a slow burn, a little predictable but I still enjoyed it. I will also add it’s not as much about the holiday as the first book was but it was still a book I enjoyed reading.

I really do love this series. Julie and Sierra a tag team write these novels and do a pretty great job. I always wondered how that writing process went. Does one author wright in the perspective of on character while the other does another character? I love how seamlessly it all goes together, you can’t even tell it’s written by two different people. Can I make my prediction for book 3 now? I think the story is going to be about the third boyband member Isaac. And there was a throwaway line in A Holly Jolly ever after that made me think he is love interest may be Winnie’s best friend Addison. We shall see what is going on. Let me know if you have read this series and what your thoughts are. Or if you have any other holiday reads you can suggest, I would love to hear them and add to my holiday book collection. Thanks for reading! Cheers!!!
