Just starting off fresh being a mama to a newborn has been rough. Getting used to sleepless nights, trying to figure out how to console a baby, building a bond with this little bundle relying solely on you, it can be a lot. I’ve tried to find little wins in my free time, activities, whatever it may be for myself. A few minutes for myself each day has been incredibly helpful and even helps me feel a sense of accomplishment. Naturally, I turned to reading.
I gave into the BookTok recommendations and finally got a chance to read Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros. While up late at night feeding my little one, I was able to fit in a chapter or two. Definitely part of the fantasy lite genre sprinkled with slow burn of romance. This book throws you into a world that will have you turning each page and leave you ready for more at the end. It helped me feel accomplished , kept me engaged and made nighttime feedings a lot easier since I wasn’t as stressed or tired, neither was my baby.
Go get yourself a copy of this book! I have a feeling this is going to be one of the new pop culture “it” book to movie adaptation series. The second book Iron Flame is set to release on November 7, 2023.
