Alright! Your girl is back! Took a bit of a break to enjoy the holidays with family and friends. Now I’m back in full swing ready to chat. Happy New Year everyone!
Man the beginning of a new year can be exciting, filled with hope and fresh starts. It’s a great time to get started on projects that have been put to the side or making lifestyle changes. At the same time it can seem daunting, a bit terrifying and cliche to try and set new resolutions for the year. Look I totally get it.
A few years back, I really fell into the trap of the latter. Putting all my ambition and motivation behind the one single factor that the new year would ensure I met my goals for that year. And personally for me, that never worked. I got into the mindset that I shouldn’t need a new year to motivate me to stay on track. Instead, I really should be able to pick up these new habits or goals any day of the year.
Thus birthed my idea of intentions for the year. I would like to work towards each and if they weren’t completed by the end of the year, any progress was chalked up as a win. This is great and since moving toward this mindset, I have found myself meeting my intentions with much more ease. Guess this girl doesn’t operate well under the NY pressure lol.
Which brings me to share my intentions for 2024:
Be a physical and mentally healthy example for my family.
Watch less TV and read more.
Experiment more with food, hoping to come across new staples in our household.
Dance – missed her a lot in 2023. Time to go back and rediscover this creative outlet.
There are quite a few more but I think those as a whole capture my main goals.
