This was a book I picked up towards the end of my pregnancy. It kept me company during those night filled with insomnia. Little did I know, those nights were probably getting me prepared for nights with a newborn.
The Love Match by Priyanka Taslim was a recommendation through my local library’s digital app. Also an we talk about the cover? If this wasn’t a recommendation, I think the cover alone would have drawn me in. The colors are beautiful and you can just tell from the beginning there is going to be a love triangle, I’m here for it!
In this book Zara is torn between pleasing her family (in looking for a love match) and following her dreams of being a writer (pursuing a different love/passion). This really will hit home for anyone delicately balancing meeting the expectations of their family but also ensuring that they are fulfilling what their individual goals. There is a great twist at the end that I definitely was not expecting. My jaw dropped while reading this part at 3 AM!
I’m looking forward to see if Priyanka writes any other novels. Glad I caught her at the beginning of her publishing journey.
