Before I became a parent, I honestly had no clue how pivotal this would become for our newborn. Look I didn’t even have this on my registry, a friend bought it as a gift and basically said “You will thank me later.” And she was not wrong!
This portable sound machine (here is the link for the one we got) has been something we used since our baby was born. I brought it to the hospital to help drown out the loud sounds like doors slamming and constant chatter from other people. My hope was that, this white noise would allow our new baby to get some rest and also mimic the sound the babies hear while in the womb. We joked around that this turned into being a switch for our little girl. If she was crying, just turn this thing on and her crying would stop.
It didn’t end when we left the hospital. We used it to help her nap during the day, in the car attached to her car seat and nestled into her stroller on walks. It has honestly gotten to the point where I even sleep or settle down better with it. I’m getting ready to order a second one. This way one can charge, while the other is in use and I never find myself without one. Definitely recommend getting one for yourself. It will be such a huge help down the road.
What are your thoughts on sound machines? Any suggestion on other great ones out there?
